| Okay, this is a photo I took on my really old Olympus Point and Shoot. I really like the foamy foreground, but have never entered in a comp because I was worried about how bright the sun is. Is this something I could put in a comp? What would I need to alter? I'm also worried about the dark space on the left side. Crop?? | ||

| Agree straighten that horizon! & agree crop off left hand side (get the long reflection on one of The Thirds. The sun's very blown out so maybe a filter effect could make this beautiful foamy scene suitable for, say, our Artists comp? Will email you my edited veriosn (and upload here if you agree). | ||

| A few tips: Take care not to look directly at the sun during exposure, even through viewfinder (can cause eye damage). Spot meter just off the sun to avoid blowout (or dial in underexposure, -1, -2 stops). Check your image after shooting, adjust settings accordingly. "Flash" White Balance may give good sunset colours. Other objects provide interest & scale (rock, post etc). | ||
