EXHIBITION 2025
Winner of the Roger Bartlett Trophy 2025
The Journey - Kate Coote
This image reflects my path in photography. An exploration of form and light. I aim to draw the viewer inward, not as an onlooker, but as part of the experience.
Autumn In Her Lips - Hamid Rahnama
Someone kissed me and left with the wind
I woke up
It was cold and autumn was here
A leaf like a kiss lay by my bed
and
Autumn whispered of death.
Anticipation - Anne Pappalardo
As a storm gathers, these pelicans wait in quiet anticipation. They are not bothered by what is to come, drawing strength from companionship, as birds have always done.
Caught Between Freedom and Fear - Zara Aziz
I dreamed I was fleeing the war, barbed wire caught my hair, and I left a piece of myself behind, fluttering like a forgotten memory in the wind.
Country Dog - Yvonne Hill
My clever blue cattle dog, Blaze, who has ambitions to be a country dog.
Can he do it? - Yvonne Hill
Blaze is a gold medal winning pool player - in America no less. He is very modest about his achievements.
Prelude by Bach - Yvonne Hill
Another photo of Blaze. Though it looks like he is reading the music, in fact his gaze was fixed on the treat being held above his nose.
The Wetlands King - Melanie Sinclair
An original moment from the banks of Lake Wyaralong, this image captures a rare sight—the egret pausing to sun itself in perfect stillness. The circular crop was chosen for balance and focus, drawing the viewer gently into his quiet, contemplative world.
Bondi Impressions - Kate Stock
Bondi Impressions blends sea, sky and movement to evoke a dreamlike rhythm of coastal life. By layering moments into a single frame, I invite viewers to experience Bondi not as a place, but as a feeling—fluid, fleeting, and endlessly alive.
Bryggen Wharf District - Steve Andrews
Hanseatic buildings in the Bryggen Wharf district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Norway contain colourful forms and striking angles. These provide a unique and visually appealing frame for the lens.
Beach Sprinkles - Joy Melchiori
Beach goers scattered like sprinkles on the sand, each with their own story to tell. Captured from a cliff top lookout, this image transforms a summer’s day into something quietly magical.
Ethereal Tranquility on a Foggy Morn - Ray Shorter
The natural beauty and quiet solitude of the landscape stills my mind and energises my soul.
Nature’s Curves - Nick Lefebvre
A section of Dune 40 in the Namib - Naukluft National Park Namibia where ancient oceans of sand are sculpted by the wind.
Trees in the Mist - Diana Ketchion
Trees on a silhouetted ridge raise their heads above the clouds like ghosts. It captures the quiet drama of the weather in the Victorian Alps
Captain Henry Blakesley - 1841 to 1919 - Rodney Nancarrow
Captain Henry Blakesley, 2nd great-grandfather of the image maker, was a timber pioneer in Noosa and Cootharaba in the 1860s. In the 1870s, he became a sea captain in the beche-de-mer and pearl shell trades, living a salt-sprayed, colourful life among the reefs, natives, and rogues of far north Queensland and New Guinea.
Wet Feet - Jasmine Westerman
These two mangrove trees stand together like parent and child. The small one bowed, gazing down as water overlaps its roots, like a child confronting an uncertain future. The elder, looks out and offers comfort “Don’t be sad - your feet will dry when the tide goes out”. It speaks to me of climate change and the fragile hope passed between generations.
Early Evening - Roger Bartlett
I invite the viewer to immerse themselves into an atmosphere of light and colour oscillating between reality and abstraction.
Hello Gorgeous - Peter Moodie
I love to travel, and an emerging aspect of my artistic journey, is becoming more open and aware of the Magical Moments - the unexpected and surprising. On a recent Moroccan adventure, in an Artist’s Retreat in the High Atlas Mountains, such a moment was captured.
An Interrupted Identity Through My Lens - Geoff Shortland
My journey began with quiet landscapes, but over time, curiosity led me toward image manipulation—transforming reality into something more personal. This piece, born from a fleeting reflection, became a space for reinvention through inversion, colour, and abstraction. My work invites you not just to look, but to see—to bring your own voice to the image. ”From Vision to Voice” is where that dialogue begins.
A raft of ducks - Leanne Sinclair
I’m fairly new to photography—aside from the usual holiday snapshots—but I’ve always been drawn to moody, atmospheric landscapes. This high-key nature image marks a shift in direction for me, something lighter and more experimental. The moment presented itself early one morning in St Helens, Tasmania, and I couldn’t resist the chance to try something different.

Pillars of the Sea - Sue Chen
Captured at Fingal Head, QLD, this image reflects the eternal dialogue between time and nature. The basalt columns stand resilient against the gentle motion of the waves, a contrast heightened through black and white photography. The work invites viewers to experience the power and poetry of the natural world through light, form, and stillness.
Lakeside Impression - Chayvis Zehui Zhang
Inspired by the different art movements along the art history, the author has been driving his images from photo to the destination of art.
Outback Impression - Chayvis Zehui Zhang
Misty Morning’s Quiet Magic - Tony FitzGerald
In the quiet hush of a chilly morning, the fog worked its magic—turning an otherwise ordinary scene into something extraordinary. What was unremarkable by day was transformed into a scene of mystery and depth, capturing an ephemeral moment reshaped and inviting quiet contemplation.
Mine is the Coolest Pool - Ester Andrews
The Mimbi Caves area in the Kimberley region is one of Australia’s most beautiful and significant natural geological sites. It is of deep spiritual significance to the Gooniyandi people who care for their country, share their stories and welcome their visitors.
Out of Darkness into Light - Ester Andrews

The gentle rise of the sun through the morning mist immersed the world in a profound silence.
In that moment, I was but a reflection of serenity
in nature’s boundless mirror.

Sunset Silhouette - Susan Ryan
This image captures a tranquil late winter’s afternoon at the beach, where golden rays from the setting sun, bathes joyful figures at play, suspended in a fleeting moment of ease. It invites the viewer to pause, breathe, and remember the simple pleasures that often get lost in the rush of everyday life.
Speaking in Feathers - Jane McMenamin
wings in whisper white
swishingly past my breath
then a call of something deep
The Copper Tree
Mesmerising patterns of the King River WA and its tributaries - nature’s aerial art in its finest form. Shot from a helicopter at 1000’.
San Xavier del Bac - Keith Fincham
The history of this Church, the oldest in Arizona, began in the 1770s, outside it merged with the Sonoran Desert whilst inside, sheltered from the elements, it speaks of the colonial Spanish culture and faith. Built by the Jesuits, then run by the Franciscans, it was built with the help of converts from the indigenous O’odham Tribe. The exterior is typical of that period, a defence against the desert; simple, safe and elegant whilst the inside shows exquisitely the religious zeal in intense detail. The outside reflects the light and heat, the inside is cool and quiet. It speaks to me of the early Spaniards and their “Vision to Voice”.
The Final Journey - Georgie Crossley
A conceptual image reflecting the final journey our loved ones make.
The Last Throes of Death - Twiggy Daniels
The torment of a now-dead forest finds its voice in this singular, humanized form, embodying the agonizing pain brought upon by this brutal death. It is a visceral representation of the torment inflicted upon our forests, where years of growth and life are obliterated by a fleeting moment of human negligence. I urge you to reflect on the fading of life under our watch.
